It was declared a National Monument in 1971 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. In its structure, different materials were used as large glass walls, mosaics, stained glass, red brick, ceramics and wrought iron.
En el exterior se mezclan elementos escultóricos, que hacen alusión al mundo de la música, con elementos arquitectónicos de carácter modernista barroco. En el interior el arquitecto combinó magistralmente los diversos materiales de construcción con cerámica y vidrio.

You can see the inside with guided tours, but it´s necesary getting the entry, at least, one week before. The tour includes the Modernist Concert hall and, according to availability, Lluis Millet Hall and the Chamber Music Hall. I went the same day to buy it, so of course, I could not get any tickets.
On July 23 of 2009, it was held a police record of the «Fundació Palau de la Música-Orfeo Català», legal entity which managed the resources of the Palace and of the ownership entity, the Catalan Choral Society. It was found that its operators, for over 30 years, had embezzled more than 30 million euros, which was the highest ever on plundering European cultural entity. In August 2010, it was announced that Ferrovial paid commissions of 4% to match of the CDC, in those days it was majority in the Catalonia Government.
